About the role
This is an internal competitive examination (concours interne) — not a direct job application — for the first internal intake of gardiens de la paix (police constables) in the Police nationale, with a regional posting in Île-de-France. Police constables are the frontline of French public safety: they carry out patrols and public-order duties, respond to calls for help, investigate offences, support victims and work with local communities, under the authority of the Ministry of the Interior. Successful candidates complete training at a national police school before taking up operational posts in the Île-de-France region. This is a Category B civil-service corps with tenured status.
