About the role
The Centre de gestion informatique de l'éducation (CGIE) is the central IT service of Luxembourg's Ministry of Education, Children and Youth (MENJE). It designs, operates and secures the ministry's IT systems and digital services, and supports the schools and education services that use them every day. As an IT Technician, you will look after the IT equipment of a school in Luxembourg City: you will install and configure workstations and servers, keep the local network running, and help teachers and staff when something stops working. The role is based in Luxembourg City and is offered as a full-time civil servant post (fonctionnaire, group B1), open to candidates holding a secondary-school leaving diploma (level 4). You will be the on-site IT contact for the school, working with the CGIE teams that run the ministry's wider systems. Responsibilities
- Manage, install, configure and maintain the school's IT fleet and equipment - Provide first-line user support: receive, qualify and resolve incidents and requests - Run the inventory, back up systems and keep software up to date - Install and configure network equipment and manage user accounts - Write clear user guides and explain IT tools to staff
Requirements
- Secondary-school leaving diploma, secondary technical diploma or technician's diploma (level 4) or equivalent qualification - At least 3 years of professional experience - EU nationality (as stated in the official posting) - Good knowledge of Windows, MacOS and Microsoft 365 environments - Good command of French and German; English and/or Luxembourgish is an asset - Knowledge of networking, servers, workstations, printers, and Microsoft Intune and Active Directory - Independence, organisation, availability and discretion
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of Luxembourgish at C1 level- A BTS in IT or a related field
