About the role
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is recruiting a full-time Primary Care Physician for its Charleston health care system in South Carolina. You will take responsibility for an assigned panel of patients, carrying out examinations, reaching diagnoses, and shaping treatment plans that cover prescriptions, laboratory and imaging orders, referrals, and follow-up care. The work spans acute illness and long-term chronic conditions: you will document every encounter, counsel patients on prevention and self-care, and coordinate with specialists across the facility. Applicants need a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree, a current full and unrestricted medical licence, completed residency training, and proficiency in written and spoken English. Open to the public; U.S. citizens and nationals, with non-citizens considered only where qualified citizens cannot be recruited. Applications close 24 September 2027.
