Registered Nurse - Mt Eden Corrections Facility

About the role

Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections) is looking for a Registered Nurse for Mt Eden Corrections Facility in Auckland (Tamaki Makaurau). In this role you will provide nursing care, assessment and support to people in custody. A typical day may include triage and health assessments, administering treatment and medication, monitoring patient progress, maintaining accurate clinical records, and working with doctors, other nurses and corrections staff to plan and deliver care. You will help promote health and wellbeing in a secure environment, respond to urgent health needs, and support patients with respect, professionalism and cultural sensitivity. Requirements

Registration as a Registered Nurse in New Zealand, clinical nursing experience, strong assessment and communication skills, good judgement and teamwork, and the ability to work safely and professionally in a secure corrections environment.
