About the role
Lycée technique Bel-Val in Belvaux is looking for a social assistant to work at 50% of a full-time post. You will be a first point of contact for pupils and families facing social or personal difficulties, helping them find the right support inside and outside school. Your work will start with listening: you will meet pupils and parents, understand their situation, and agree on practical steps together. You will then coordinate with teachers, school support staff and outside services, making referrals where needed and following up to make sure help actually arrives. You will also support prevention work in school, for example by contributing to projects on wellbeing, inclusion and respectful relationships, and by helping staff spot early signs that a pupil may need support. Clear, confidential record-keeping is part of the role, as is taking part in support meetings where plans for individual pupils are agreed and reviewed. The post is open to nationals of European Union member states, as stated in the official listing. No salary is stated in the official listing. Applications close on 5 November 2026, and candidates should apply through the official GovJobs listing linked below.
