About the role
The Alabama Army National Guard is recruiting Surface Maintenance Repairers for its Cullman facility, with three vacancies available. You will carry out limited diagnosis and routine repair and maintenance of heavy-duty mobile equipment: removing, replacing, adjusting, cleaning and installing parts, conducting readiness and repair inspections, and doing limited work on basic communications equipment. The work keeps Guard vehicles ready for training and real-world missions. Applicants need general and specialised experience using hand and power tools and test equipment, and an understanding of mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; education cannot be substituted for experience in wage-grade posts. National Guard membership in a compatible assignment is required. If you are a hands-on mechanic who wants your trade skills to support a military mission, this full-time technician post offers steady work and a clear purpose.
