About the role
This is a separate French-language selection for three permanent, full-time telecom technician posts at level C with Belgium's federal telecom and postal regulator, the IBPT. You will work in the Controls service, where the focus is making sure wireless communication works without harmful interference. Each working day starts at the control centre in Liège, from where you travel with a colleague in a service vehicle to carry out checks across the region. The work is varied and hands-on: investigating radio interference, checking that transmitters meet their licence conditions, measuring equipment, and tracing faults to defective devices or parts. You will also check the conformity of radio equipment on the Belgian market, working with manufacturers, importers and distributors and, on imports, with customs. Because the work is field-based, frequent travel by road from home in a service vehicle is required. Successful candidates are placed on a reserve list valid for one year. The selection is in French, and the posts are full-time on a 38-hour week.
Responsibilities
- Carry out announced and unannounced controls following radio interference - Check compliance with transmitter licence parameters - Perform technical measurements on equipment - Actively trace interference and locate defective equipment or parts - Check conformity of radio equipment on the Belgian market - Complete the administrative follow-up of controls and interference cases
Requirements
You hold an upper secondary diploma and have basic knowledge of electricity, electronics and telecommunications, plus a genuine interest in telecoms and technology. A good knowledge of Dutch, English and/or German is an advantage. You work carefully, are comfortable travelling for field work, and can apply through the official portal by 9 November 2026; applications by email are not accepted.

Flexible hours in a 38-hour week, overtime recovery, free public transport for commuting, free hospital insurance, bilingualism allowance possibility, bicycle allowance, phone and laptop with call costs covered.
