Advisor, Communications and Engagement (Bay of Plenty)

About the role

The New Zealand Transport Agency is looking for an Advisor, Communications and Engagement to support its work in the Bay of Plenty. In this role you will help explain transport projects, plans and changes in clear, accessible language, and build strong relationships with communities, partners and stakeholders. A typical day may include preparing written updates and briefing material, supporting public engagement activities, answering questions about local transport work, and working closely with project teams to make sure information is accurate, timely and easy to understand. You will also help listen to community feedback, share what you hear with colleagues, and support events, meetings and online communication that keep people informed. This is a Bay of Plenty-based role for a thoughtful communicator who enjoys working with people, managing competing priorities, and helping communities understand how transport decisions affect their everyday travel.

Requirements

Experience in communications, engagement or a related field, strong written and verbal communication skills, experience working with communities and stakeholders, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, explain complex topics simply, and work well in a team.
