Finance Officer

About the role

Buzz Women Gambia, an organisation that empowers women and girls through skills development, entrepreneurship and community leadership, is hiring a Finance Officer for its Banjul office, reporting to the Finance Manager / Head of Finance. The Finance Officer keeps accurate financial records, processes transactions, monitors expenditure and ensures compliance with the organisation's financial policies and donor requirements. Duties include recording transactions and maintaining supporting documentation, assisting with organisational and programme budgets, tracking expenditure against budgets and flagging variances, preparing routine financial reports, maintaining cashbooks and bank reconciliation schedules, supporting month-end and year-end close, and helping with internal and external audits. The role also provides practical finance support to programme and operations teams across The Gambia, with field travel as required. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance or financial administration Practical experience with bookkeeping, reconciliations, payment processing and financial reporting Good working knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls, with strong attention to detail and confidentiality Professional accounting qualification, or progress toward one, and NGO or donor-funded programme experience are desirable
