About the role
The city of Porta Westfalica seeks a head of its urban planning and building department (Fachbereich 3), covering economic development and property management, urban planning and building regulation. You will plan and steer the department's services from a professional, financial and organisational perspective, represent it internally and externally, lead the staff reporting directly to you, and sit on the extended administrative board. You need a university degree (Bachelor, Diplom or Master) in architecture, civil engineering or urban planning, or a comparable qualification, or the career qualification for the higher technical administrative service, plus at least five years of leadership responsibility, preferably in a municipal administration or the public service. The post is permanent and full-time, paid up to TVöD E 14 or A 14. Apply by 25 November 2026.
