About the role

The University of Cyprus invites applications for two tenure-track positions - Lecturer or Assistant Professor - in Economics at its Department of Economics in Nicosia. The appointees will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in economics, build an independent research programme in their field, supervise students, and contribute to the department's academic life and administration. For appointment as Lecturer, publications are not a requirement, although candidates for that rank are encouraged to submit representative publications if they have them. Applications are submitted through the University's online application system, with the supporting documents uploaded as separate PDF files; the names and email addresses of three professors are required, from whom confidential letters of recommendation will be requested automatically on submission, and letters may follow up to seven days after the deadline. Applications that do not include all the required documents will not be considered. The deadline for applications is Monday 23 November 2026 at 23:59 Cyprus time.

Requirements

A doctoral degree (PhD) in Economics or a closely related field, with a teaching and research profile appropriate to appointment as Lecturer or Assistant Professor, as set out in the University of Cyprus vacancy announcement. Applications, with all required documents as separate PDFs and the details of three referees, must be submitted through the University's online system by 23:59 (Cyprus time) on 23 November 2026.
