Project Assistant

About the role

Zumra is an independent non-profit NGO and registered charity working across several countries on infrastructure development, food programmes and emergency relief for communities in developing nations and crisis-affected regions, partnering with local and international NGOs. Zumra is seeking a Project Assistant to join its headquarters in Umraniye, Istanbul, supporting the Project Manager with the planning, implementation and monitoring of domestic and international infrastructure, superstructure and housing projects. The work includes international field visits to inspect progress on site and contribute to measurement and audit processes, coordinating correspondence with international stakeholders, local partners and suppliers in English and Arabic, supporting progress payments, budgeting, quantity surveying and technical project reporting, and organising field data, photographs and documentation into regular progress reports. The monthly salary range stated on the listing is 40,000 to 70,000 Turkish lira, negotiable based on experience and qualifications, and candidates must reside in Istanbul and be able to commute to the Umraniye office. Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering - Fluency in both English and Arabic, with professional verbal and written communication in both languages (mandatory) - Strong desire to develop professionally in managing and tracking technical humanitarian projects; prior humanitarian aid experience is prioritised - No restrictions on international travel and ability to adapt to intensive travel schedules and flexible working hours - Detail-oriented, with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in MS Office and basic engineering software such as AutoCAD - Must reside in Istanbul and be able to commute to the Umraniye office
