About the role
The Boston VA Health Care System is looking for a Purchasing Agent to join its Logistics Service in Brockton, Massachusetts, buying the supplies, services and equipment that keep a busy veterans' hospital running. You will handle purchases under the micro-purchase threshold, review and refine purchase requests, support wider procurement activity, and act as a first point of contact for medical staff and other customers who need goods delivered quickly and correctly. Accuracy, organisation and a customer-focused approach matter here, because the items you source go straight to patient care. Applicants need U.S. citizenship and at least one full year of specialised experience at the GS-6 level; there is no education substitution at this grade, and shortlisted candidates complete an online assessment. If you have hands-on buying experience and want it to serve a public purpose, this role puts your procurement skills to work for veterans across the Boston health care system, with a stable weekday schedule.
