About the role
The Salisbury Veterans Healthcare System in North Carolina is hiring a Registered Nurse for acute care, a role that sits at the centre of hospital nursing for veterans. You will assess patients, plan and deliver evidence-based, age-specific care, evaluate outcomes, and coordinate patient education so veterans can manage their own health with confidence. Beyond individual patients, you will help lead and organise how care is delivered on the unit, working closely with the interdisciplinary team and using your expertise to improve practice beyond your own caseload. The role runs full-time across various shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays, and calls for a nurse who is clinically strong, calm in acute situations and committed to veteran care. Pay is $82,449 to $152,684 per year. Note the early close: this announcement shuts when 40 applications arrive, which may be before the 4 November 2026 closing date. Open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S., with first consideration to current permanent Salisbury VA employees.
Requirements
Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S., and be registered nurses able to deliver evidence-based acute care; first consideration to current permanent Salisbury VA facility employees.
