About the role
The Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command is hiring Security Guards for the Sierra Ordnance Depot at Herlong, California. You will control pedestrian and vehicle access to the installation, verify identification, run background-system queries, direct traffic and assist visitors, forming the first layer of protection for people, equipment and stores. The work involves rotating and shift patterns and demands alertness, courtesy and sound judgement. Applicants need one year of grade-appropriate specialised security experience, United States citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, plus meeting firearms, medical and physical-agility standards; education is not a substitute for experience. Three vacancies are available in this full-time federal role, graded GS 5-6 and paying $40,736 to $59,031 per year.
