Senior Expert – Natural Sciences and Ecology, Organisational-Methodological Activity and Control, RED Burgas (Burgas)

About the role

The Regional Education Directorate in Burgas is looking for a Senior Expert in Natural Sciences and Ecology to work in its Organisational-Methodological Activity and Control department. The main purpose of the post is to create the conditions for the state education policy to be carried out in the region, and to help optimise, run and develop the institutions of the preschool and school education system in Burgas region. In a typical week you will support the organisational-methodological activity and control of the educational process in natural sciences subjects — biology and health education, physics and astronomy, chemistry and environmental protection — in the gymnasium stage. You will help organise and run activities linked to the state matriculation examinations in biology and health education, physics and astronomy, and chemistry and environmental protection, as well as competitions and olympiads for pupils in natural sciences, biology and health education, physics and astronomy, chemistry and environmental protection. You will organise work arising from normative acts on the conduct of state matriculation examinations and national external assessments. The post is a high-corruption-risk post under Article 7a of the Civil Servant Act, designated as such by Order No. RD09-3324 of 31 August 2026 of the Minister of Education and Science. The individual basic monthly salary is set at appointment under the salary regulation, according to the post level, qualifications and professional experience, starting from a minimum basic monthly salary of 977.00 €, with grades up to 1,350 € and 1,551 €. Requirements

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of teaching experience, as required by Article 14(3) of the Rules for the Organisation and Functions of the Regional Education Directorates for a civil servant in the Organisational-Methodological Activity and Control department. Higher-education area: Natural sciences, mathematics and informatics, or Pedagogical sciences; professional direction Pedagogy of teaching biology, chemistry or physics. This is a high-corruption-risk post under Article 7a of the Civil Servant Act, designated by Order No. RD09-3324 of 31 August 2026 of the Minister of Education and Science. Candidates must meet the eligibility conditions of the Civil Servant Act. Under Article 14(4) of the competition rules, Bulgarian citizens who have completed voluntary reserve service under Article 59(1) of the Reserve of the Armed Forces Act enjoy a preference when applying for work in the state administration if they achieve equal final results in the competition procedure. Selection: test on the professional field of the post and on the administration, followed by an interview.
