About the role

CircleCI, the continuous integration and delivery platform headquartered in San Francisco, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Query team. The Query team owns the system that pulls product data out of CircleCI's transactional services into ClickHouse-based historical and analytical stores, and serves it back through APIs that power flaky-test detection, pipeline search and AI reasoning about builds. The role designs schemas and ingestion pipelines built on Temporal and event streams, and works on the caching and tiering that keeps queries fast at scale. It suits an engineer with deep backend experience in Go (or a comparable language, with enthusiasm to work in Go) and sound distributed-systems judgment around idempotency, backpressure and failure recovery. Base pay ranges are stated by location: Canada CAD 156,500 to CAD 215,000; US SF Bay Area (Metro Zone 3) USD 185,000 to USD 255,000; US Metro Zone 2 USD 175,000 to USD 245,000; US General USD 165,000 to USD 225,000. Requirements

5+ years building and operating production backend systems Hands-on experience with data-intensive systems, ingestion pipelines or analytical datastores (ClickHouse a plus) Backend depth in Go, or a comparable language with eagerness to work in Go Distributed-systems judgment: idempotency, backpressure and failure recovery Technical leadership and experience designing complex systems Familiarity with AI-native engineering practices
