About the role

The Administration judiciaire is recruiting a Social Assistant for the Central Social Assistance Service (SCAS), Youth Protection section, Social Investigations section, in Luxembourg. Where the educational assistance colleagues accompany families over time, your role is to investigate: when a court or youth judge needs a clear, objective picture of a child's situation, you will be the professional who builds it. As an agent of the Social Investigations section, you will carry out social investigations, meeting the child, the parents and the other people involved, gathering the information that matters, and analysing it with rigour and impartiality. Your reports will inform judicial decisions that shape children's lives, so they must be thorough, balanced and clearly written, setting out the facts, the analysis and the conclusions that follow from them. You will need strong analysis and synthesis skills, excellent writing, and the ability to organise and coordinate consultations and meetings, as well as sound knowledge of social work intervention methods and interview and communication techniques. Decision-making ability and professional judgement are central: your conclusions carry real weight. This is a full-time post in group A2, under a civil servant, change-of-administration or trainee appointment. Applications are made online via MyGuichet, and the deadline is 20 November 2026.
