About the role
Heilsugæslan Seltjarnarnesi and Vesturbæ is looking for a specialist in family medicine. The clinic seeks a doctor interested in varied, demanding and enjoyable tasks in a field in constant development, with emphasis on interdisciplinary teamwork by health professionals in a learning-rich working environment. The clinic has an excellent working atmosphere, with emphasis on good cooperation, job satisfaction and wellbeing at work. The post is a 100% permanent post, and it is desirable that the successful applicant can start on 1 December or as otherwise agreed. A lower percentage would also be considered if no specialist is found for a full post, and all doctors who are interested are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- General medicine, health protection, on-call service and teaching of students, as part of the broad field of family medicine - Providing professional advice and information, and guiding patient groups and their relatives - Active participation in the development and building up of family medicine, including teaching staff and students - Taking part in scientific, development and quality work
Requirements
Icelandic medical licence (Íslenskt lækningaleyfi); specialist education in family medicine; organisational skills, independence in the job and disciplined working methods; teaching experience is desirable; good ability in human relations; experience and interest in cooperation with other professions and participation in teamwork; reliability, professional ambition, positivity and flexibility; good general computer skills; Icelandic skills are a condition (Íslenskukunnátta skilyrði); clean criminal record (Hreint sakavottorð).
Benefits
Pay under the current collective agreement made by the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and the relevant trade union. Applications may remain valid for 6 months.
