About the role
The Veterans Canteen Service is hiring Health Technicians (Opticians) across three Florida locations: Tampa, Lakeland and New Port Richey, with thirteen vacancies in total. In this full-time, permanent role you will welcome and assist customers, fit eyewear, and take accurate optical measurements so that every order is right first time. You will process orders and payments, coordinate with eye clinics, laboratories and prosthetics staff, resolve customer issues, and keep displays and inventory in good order. Applicants need a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience working as an optician, including independent work, interpreting prescriptions and resolving problems, verifying optical work for quality, and using standard optical tools with confidence.
