About the role
Ullensaker kommune is looking for engaged and professionally strong kindergarten teachers to help build an inclusive and inspiring learning environment for children, staff and families at Skogmo Park barnehage in the heart of Jessheim. The kindergarten opened on 1 December 2025 and has room for 180 children across 10 departments. The post is permanent and full-time. The work includes carrying out pedagogical work in line with the Kindergarten Act and the framework plan; contributing to the professional development of the kindergarten; contributing to a safe and good play and learning environment for all children; planning, carrying out and evaluating pedagogical work at the department; being a good role model who is close to, supports and guides colleagues; implementing current local plans; staying professionally updated on the kindergarten's content and tasks; contributing to good cooperation with parents; and cooperating with external bodies. There may also be tasks linked to individual children. The kindergarten offers a large and varied professional environment with opportunities for specialisation and cooperation across departments; modern, functional premises that support children's participation, exploration and play; inspiring outdoor areas with zones adapted to different age groups and universal accessibility; good facilities for staff; and a staff group with high competence that works for high quality for every child every day. The municipality also offers competence development through the regional scheme for kindergarten-based competence development, systematic quality and competence development using CLASS with opportunities for certification in Toddler and Pre-K, a plan for guidance of newly qualified kindergarten teachers, and systematic preventive working-environment work. Requirements
Approved education as a kindergarten teacher (barnehagelærer); good Norwegian skills, written and oral, at level B2; the education must be approved by UDIR (the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training). A specialisation in guidance is desirable, and it is an advantage to be a certified CLASS observer in Toddler and Pre-K. Personal suitability will be emphasised. The successful candidate should be able and willing to use staff competence, motivate staff from Ullensaker kommune's values — brave, adaptable and generous — create good relations between children, parents and staff, create an inspiring play and learning environment with a holistic learning path, and work in a research-informed way while developing their own practice at the department.
