About the role
The Commissariat aux Assurances is recruiting an actuary, mathematician or physicist as a State employee (permanent contract) for its supervision of non-life insurance and reinsurance undertakings, based in Luxembourg-Gasperich. As the prudential supervisor of Luxembourg's insurance sector, the Commissariat needs quantitative expertise to judge whether insurers' internal models are sound and whether their technical provisions and solvency calculations stand up to scrutiny. You will take part in reviewing and continuously controlling the internal models submitted for approval, and you will prepare technical analyses and opinions on non-life insurance and reinsurance undertakings. Your work will feed directly into supervisory decisions: you will contribute to the work for the annual report on the supervised entities, and you will carry out control missions at non-life insurance and reinsurance undertakings, examining their models and practices on site. You will also represent the Commissariat in national and international bodies on these subjects, bringing Luxembourg's perspective to discussions on insurance supervision and modelling standards. This is a role for a quantitative mind that wants real-world impact: the models you review and the opinions you write help keep the insurance sector sound. This is a full-time post in group A1, under a permanent State employee contract (CDI). Applications are made by email to the Commissariat, and the deadline is 20 November 2026.
