About the role
The Executive Office, Office of the Cabinet, is looking for an Administrative Assistant to keep two busy units running smoothly. Working under the Permanent Secretary/Cabinet Secretary, you will support the Programme Management Unit and the Legal Services Unit, handling the day-to-day administration that lets senior officers focus on their core work. A typical day will involve coordinating activities across both units, setting up and supporting meetings, keeping calendars and appointments in order, preparing documents, drafting reports and correspondence, carrying out background research, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be expected to work discreetly with sensitive material and to present a professional, helpful face to colleagues and visitors. This is a role for an organised, reliable administrator who can manage competing priorities, communicate clearly in writing and in person, and follow through on tasks without constant supervision. Eligibility restriction as stated in the official circular: applications are invited from suitably qualified officers in their Ministries/Departments/Agencies. The official notice is OSC Circular No. 204, dated 30 October 2026. Applications must reach the Senior Director, Human Resource Development and Management Division, Office of the Prime Minister, 1 Devon Road, Kingston 10, by Thursday, 12 November 2026, at jobs@opm.gov.jm. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
