About the role
The Hanseatic and University City of Rostock seeks a caseworker for care assistance (Hilfe zur Pflege) in its social welfare service. You will assess applications for care support under Social Code Book XII, advise people in need of care and their families, check income and assets, calculate entitlements and issue formal decisions, liaise with care providers, nursing homes and other benefit agencies, and keep case files up to date. You need a qualification in administration or a comparable field, ideally with experience in social benefits or care-related casework, sound knowledge of the relevant social law, a careful and structured way of working, and empathy and confidence when dealing with people in difficult situations. The post is paid at TVöD-VKA E 9b with the usual public-sector benefits, including an annual bonus and a company pension. Apply by 25 November 2026.
