About the role
The Executive Agency General Labour Inspectorate in Sofia is looking for a Chief Expert to join its Finance Directorate. This civil-service role sits at the financial heart of an agency created by decree of Prince Ferdinand in 1907, which today oversees compliance with labour legislation across the country through 28 territorial directorates. Your work will focus on the agency's financial activity: preparing answers and expert material on budgets and on the accounting reports of acts, and supporting sound financial management in a large public administration. A typical day will involve reviewing financial documents, checking figures against budgets and rules, drafting clear written responses, and coordinating with colleagues in finance and other directorates. The post is full-time and on site in Sofia. The official minimum basic monthly salary is 1,047.00 euros, with the individual amount set at appointment under the applicable salary rules. The application deadline is 9 November 2026 at 17:00. Note that this post is designated as a high-corruption-risk post, and the integrity-test note under § 20 of the transitional and final provisions applies: no integrity test is carried out for posts under Article 7a started after the provision entered into force until technical provision is in place, and no later than 1 December 2026.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of professional experience or rank IV junior. No specific requirement in a normative act is stated for the post. Computer literacy: MS Office (Word, Excel) and Internet. The post is designated as a high-corruption-risk post. Selection is by a test on the professional field of the post and on the administration, followed by an interview. Bulgarian citizens who have served fixed-term service in the voluntary reserve under Article 59(1) of the Reserve of the Armed Forces Act receive preference when applying for work in the state administration at equal final results, under Article 14(4) of the competitions regulation.
