About the role

The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai, located at Vihar Lake Road in Powai, Mumbai, is one of India's leading management institutes and is recruiting a Deputy General Manager for its Career Development Services function under Advertisement No. Admn/Rectt/2026/41 dated 19 October 2026. The role leads the institute's placements, internships and corporate relations work, building relationships with employers, students, alumni and faculty so that placement activity runs to a high standard and to demanding timelines. The post is at Pay Level 12 under the 7th CPC and is offered on a regular, contract or tenure basis, with an initial tenure or deputation appointment of five years. It is a full-time, on-site position at the Mumbai campus requiring a full commitment to the institute. Requirements

Postgraduate degree in Management (MBA/PGDM) or an equivalent management qualification from a recognised institution with at least 60% marks and a consistently good academic record Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a government department, academic or research institution, or other reputed institution At least 3 years at Pay Level 11 or equivalent, or 5 years at Pay Level 10, in a comparable institution Excellent communication, networking and relationship-building skills, with strong spoken and written English Strategic mindset focused on placements and continuous improvement, able to work independently and meet timelines Indian citizenship; age limit 45 years as on the closing date, with relaxations as per government rules
