About the role
The Centre for the Development of Vision-Related Skills in Bertrange is looking for a human sciences expert with a special pedagogy profile to join its team on a fixed-term contract running to 8 July 2027. Working in an outpatient setting, you will support children, young people and adults whose specific educational needs are linked to a visual impairment, helping each person make the most of their remaining vision and participate as fully as possible in school, training and everyday life. A central part of the job is building an individual pedagogical project for each person you follow: you assess what adaptations are needed, such as transcription of materials or the use of technical aids, and you define the specific learning goals to work towards. You will also guide and support young pupils as they prepare to enter the primary labour market, working closely with teachers, families and other professionals around them. The role is full-time and based in Bertrange, within the Ministry of National Education, Childhood and Youth.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient support to children, young people and adults with vision-related specific educational needs. - Design and put in place individual pedagogical projects that compensate for the visual deficit, identifying the adaptations (transcription, technical aids) and the specific learning to be achieved. - Guide and accompany young pupils as they move towards the primary labour market. - Work as part of the centre's team and maintain easy, constructive contact with teachers and pupils. - Follow each person's progress and adjust the pedagogical project as needs change.
Requirements
Applicants must be nationals of a European Union member state, hold a grade or diploma from a recognised higher education establishment at least at level 7 (master's), and have a good command of French, German and Luxembourgish. The post calls for specialised pedagogical knowledge and skills for pupils with specific educational needs, a strong sense of responsibility, the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, and ease of contact with teachers and pupils.
Preferred qualifications
Knowledge in the evaluation and care of pupils with vision-related needs; knowledge of school legislation; knowledge of the procedures of the service for employees with disabilities and of dependency insurance; knowledge of specialised auxiliary aids (optical, electronic and computer aids).
