About the role
The National Reception Office (Office national de l'accueil, ONA) is recruiting a Legal Affairs Expert for its Legal Affairs Service in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. This is a full-time, fixed-term post, running until 3 January 2028, for a lawyer who will defend the interests of the State and the ONA before the courts and support the Office's work in the reception of applicants for international protection. Day to day, the role combines court work with advisory work: you will draft introductory acts and pleadings, follow the legal cases handled by the administration, handle the division's current files, and draft reports, legal opinions and notes for the Director and for the Minister. You will also act as a legal reference for the ONA's other divisions, analysing the legal questions they raise, keeping the legal watch on national and European rules and case law up to date, and identifying emerging legal challenges and proposing legally sound solutions. The work suits a lawyer who writes excellently in French, analyses complex files rigorously, and can work calmly and constructively under pressure. No salary is stated in the official vacancy notice. Candidates must be nationals of a European Union Member State. Applications close on 24 November 2026, and applications are submitted through the official GovJobs portal.
