About the role

The Administration d'évaluation et de contrôle de l'assurance dépendance in Luxembourg-Gare assesses whether people who apply for dependency insurance benefits are in a situation of dependency, and what support they need. This permanent post is for a doctor who will act as medical referent and evaluator, giving the administration's medical opinion on applicants' files. A typical day combines careful file work with professional exchange: preparing an evaluation from the documents on file, earlier expert opinions and comments from the applicant and their circle; gathering further information from the applicant, their family and the care providers involved; and forming a reasoned opinion on the applicant's dependency status and on the technical aids they require. The referent also determines which benefits are required on the basis of the file, and handles appeals by giving a medical opinion on contested decisions. Beyond individual files, the role includes informing, advising and guiding applicants and other stakeholders on dependency, prevention and other forms of care, while respecting confidentiality, and acting as the administration's internal and external reference person for specific medical questions. The post also contributes to the continuous improvement of the evaluation process and to the integrity of the files handled.
