About the role
The Institut départemental de l'enfance et de la famille (IDEF) in Bron, a public child-welfare institution in the Lyon metropolitan area, is recruiting a youth education worker (moniteur éducateur, H/F). This is a Category B civil-service position dedicated to supporting children and teenagers placed in care. In this full-time, on-site role you will accompany young people through their daily lives: helping with routines, schoolwork and leisure activities, encouraging autonomy and social skills, and being a trusted, consistent adult presence. You will take part in educational projects, observe behavior and progress, and work closely with educators, social workers and families to keep each child's pathway coherent. Calm authority, patience and the ability to build trust with young people in vulnerable situations are essential. The post is open to tenured civil servants and contract staff. Requirements
A recognized moniteur-éducateur diploma or equivalent qualification in social work, plus experience with children or adolescents in care. Solid understanding of child protection, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
