About the role

The Greenland Institute of Natural Resources, operating under the Government of Greenland (Naalakkersuisut), is recruiting a Researcher or Senior Researcher in Physical Oceanography on a two-year fixed-term contract. The Institute is Greenland's centre for research on marine resources and the Arctic environment, and its oceanographic work informs both science and fisheries policy. You will conduct research in physical oceanography relevant to Greenland's waters: analysing oceanographic data, participating in research cruises and field campaigns, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to the Institute's advisory work for the government. The role offers a rare opportunity to do frontline Arctic science — studying ocean currents, water masses and climate-driven changes in one of the planet's most dynamic marine environments. This is a contract position (two-year fixed term) based in Greenland. It is aimed at candidates with a PhD in physical oceanography or a related field and a strong publication record; the senior level reflects greater experience and leadership expectations. Fieldwork readiness and the ability to work in Arctic conditions are important. Apply via the link on this listing.
