About the role
The City of Wetzlar is looking for a senior fire officer (Brandamtmann/-frau) to head its Technology section, starting 1 April 2027. You will lead the development of technology concepts, write specifications for procuring equipment and vehicles, serve in day alarm duty, update the needs and development plan, and take incident command and leadership duty including on-call outside day duty. You need a passed career examination for the senior fire service, unrestricted fitness for fire service and breathing-apparatus duty, relevant leadership experience, negotiating skill, conceptual thinking, assertiveness and resilience, a driving licence C/CE or class 2, and willingness to work outside regular hours and to move near Wetzlar if needed.
