About the role
This is a fully remote Senior Level Designer role at Blackbird Interactive, the Vancouver-based video game studio. You will design action RPG levels: shaping layouts, encounters and pacing from concept through playtesting and iteration. Your days will involve blocking out spaces in-engine, scripting gameplay moments, tuning difficulty, and collaborating with artists, engineers and narrative designers to bring levels to life. You will use player feedback and playtest data to refine your work, exercising strong judgement about what makes a level fun. This is a senior role for a designer with deep action/RPG experience and a track record of shipping polished levels. You must reside in Canada and be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Requirements
You have 8+ years of level design experience, including action or RPG levels. You are skilled in in-engine scripting and level iteration through playtesting. You bring strong design judgement and collaborate well with cross-disciplinary teams.
