About the role

Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Colombia has opened its Convocatoria a Pasantías Primer Semestre 2027-I, an internship call for Colombian university students to complete their professional practice placement (pasantía) at the Foreign Ministry during the first semester of 2027. This is a student internship (práctica laboral), not a salaried staff post. Placements are available in the ministry's internal offices in Bogotá, in embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions, and — for the first time — in Colombia's honorary consulates abroad. Interns support the day-to-day work of the office they are assigned to, gaining practical experience in foreign affairs, consular work and public administration. Applications run from 16 October to 6 November 2026 and must be sent by the student's university in a single PDF to the ministry's internships email, including a university presentation letter, grade average certificate, CV form, ID copy and health-insurance affiliation certificate. Placements abroad additionally require a Colombian passport valid for the placement period plus at least three extra months, and a certificate showing the language level the post requires, issued within the last two years. After the university submits the documents, the student must also complete the ministry's online form, and separately register their CV with the Public Employment Service through the Compensar employment agency. No salary is stated in the call. University students who meet the conditions should arrange their application through their university and the application link before 6 November 2026.
