About the role

The Lycée du Nord in Wiltz is looking for a librarian to manage, develop and promote the school's libraries. You will make printed and digital documentary resources available to pupils, teachers and staff, and you will initiate, support and develop educational activities with pupils and teachers. You will welcome, advise and guide readers in their reading and media searches, and handle the administrative side of loans, returns and new acquisitions, from labelling to shelving. You will select, acquire, catalogue, equip and update the collections according to professional standards, working with teachers to prepare educational activities and documentary sequences. You will also organise events, exhibitions, reading clubs, author meetings and cultural events, and design and run educational and cultural activities that bring reading, culture and media education to life. The post is full-time, based in Wiltz, and open to candidates with a bachelor's degree who can work in French, German and Luxembourgish.

Responsibilities

Requirements

National of an EU member state. A bachelor's degree or diploma from a recognised higher education institution, at least level 6. Good writing skills and mastery of writing techniques in French, German and Luxembourgish; ability to manage documentary collections and use library management software; ability to accompany the school community in documentary research; ability to design and run educational and cultural activities; ability to organise and run activities around reading, culture and media education; knowledge of documentary information management and processing principles, of the organisation and functioning of Luxembourg secondary education, of media and information education principles, and of copyright, data protection and responsible use rules.
