About the role
DuckDuckGo is hiring its first Senior Product Designer for Design Systems, a new role created to establish, audit and scale a cross-platform design system spanning Search, Duck.ai and the company's other products. The designer owns the roadmap for design tokens, component libraries, governance, documentation and rollout, bridging design and engineering. Early work includes leading an audit of the current state, recommending solutions, and planning rollout — through quick wins or larger-scale projects — with clear documentation and success metrics. The role also explores applying agentic and AI-driven approaches to design-system management. Pay is stated as USD 178,500 annually plus stock options; DuckDuckGo notes that compensation is transparent across the organisation, with everyone at the same professional level and global region paid the same. The role is listed as remote from anywhere, working around 40 hours a week with no core hours, camera-on video meetings, and travel at least twice a year for all-hands and team retreats of about four to five days each. Apply through the application link before the deadline shown.
