About the role

The Finnish Tax Administration is seeking three audit managers (tarkastuspäällikkö, requirement level 14) for its taxation unit: two permanent posts and one fixed-term post from 1 January 2027 to 30 June 2027. The permanent posts start on 1 January 2027. The manager leads a multidisciplinary team for a tax-risk area in a coaching way that builds the team's self-direction, making sure the team's work meets its targets, is effective, and is cost-efficient. Day-to-day work includes scheduling, prioritising, and carrying out measures in the guidance and supervision plan, checking that working methods and substance decisions are consistent across processes and procedure areas, giving team members feedback that supports their development, working with supervisors on team development, and actively improving working methods. The posts are listed for Helsinki, Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Lappeenranta, Oulu, Rovaniemi, Seinäjoki, Tampere, Turku, and Vaasa; the location shown here is Helsinki, and the official listing should be checked for the post locations. Working time is office hours, and full or partial remote work is possible. The stated task-specific pay is EUR 5,372.54 per month, plus a personal performance component of up to 48 percent; at the start this component is typically 4 to 12 percent. A probation period of up to six months may apply. Please check the official Valtiolle.fi listing for full details and apply through that listing before the deadline.

Requirements

Eligibility as stated: good spoken and written Finnish or Swedish is required for appointment, and appointment requires a security clearance check on the applicant. Expected in the listing: a suitable higher university degree, for example in economics, law, or administrative sciences; ability to manage broad entities and deliver results; tax audit experience and evidence of goal-oriented, effective, customer-focused work in guidance or project work and in leading the work of others; broad procedure and substance expertise; organisational ability, independent working style, and solution focus; a coaching approach that increases team members' self-direction and adaptability; and excellent interaction and cooperation skills.
