About the role

Kalmar kommun is recruiting four assistant nurses (undersköterskor) for its pool service within the care administration (Omsorgsförvaltningen). The pool covers both residential care homes and home care, so you will work at different workplaces depending on the needs of the service, sometimes at short notice. This is a learning, varied and rewarding role: you will work person-centred, strengthening each care recipient's independence, participation and wellbeing, giving support and motivation and carrying out compensating and helping measures based on individual needs and conditions. The work also includes health care tasks delegated by licensed staff, and you will work in cross-professional teams, contributing your perspective and taking part in developing and improving the service. Working hours follow a roster covering days, evenings and weekends, and the post is full-time and permanent, starting by agreement. Kalmar kommun says its elderly care is at the national forefront, with care recipients at the centre. Please quote reference C351418 in your application. Pay is set individually and differentiated; the official listing states a monthly salary type but no salary amount, so no salary figure is given here.

Responsibilities

- Provide person-centred care and support in care homes and home care - Carry out health care tasks delegated by licensed staff - Work at different pool workplaces as the service requires - Work in cross-professional teams and help improve the service - Support care recipients' independence, participation and wellbeing

Requirements

You must be a trained assistant nurse with proof of the right to use the professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen). Because pool work means moving between workplaces at short notice, a driving licence and access to your own car are required. You also need good communication skills in speech and writing, good computer skills and the ability to work in different systems, and to be positive, responsible, flexible and able to adapt to new conditions. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. Before employment you must present an extract from the police criminal record register for work in the home with older people and people with disabilities, and show identity and, where relevant, a residence or work permit, as stated in the listing. Permanent staff are war-placed at their workplace, and some posts are security-classed, so a security vetting may be carried out before an employment decision.

Preferred qualifications

Experience of elderly care and of delegated health care tasks, preferably with extended delegation, is meriting.

Permanent full-time municipal employment, varied work across care homes and home care, and a service focused on quality, learning and continuous improvement.
