About the role
The Commission Nationale de Réforme du Droit (CNRD) is a permanent commission created at the Presidency of the Republic of Benin. Based in Cotonou, it is recruiting two Assistants to the Permanent Committee, under one shared job description. This is a full-time, on-site role, working 40 hours per week on a fixed-term contract (CDD) of two years, renewable, under the President of the CNRD. The two posts share the same duties, and the CNRD seeks complementary profiles: one more legal, normative and documentary in focus, and one more administrative, organisational and project-monitoring in focus. Assistants support the Permanent Committee's work with analysis, drafting, planning and careful document handling, but they hold no decision, validation, representation or signature powers of their own. No salary is stated in the official call: remuneration is communicated to selected candidates only. There is no application fee. Applications are open from 28 October 2026 at 09:00 to 6 November 2026 at 17:00, and must be sent by email only, as a single PDF file. The selection process includes an eligibility check, shortlisting and an interview before a selection committee, with verification of information and references; only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. How to apply: Send one PDF file named NOM_Prénoms_Poste_CNRD.pdf to secretairecnrd@presidence.bj by 6 November 2026 at 17:00. The file must contain a signed motivation letter of no more than two pages, a detailed signed CV of no more than three pages with two professional references, a copy of a valid identity document, copies of diplomas, attestations of experience, and a sworn declaration.
Responsibilities
- Support the Permanent Committee by preparing, organising and following up its work, meetings and files. - Analyse documents, summarise issues clearly, and draft notes, reports and correspondence in French. - Help plan activities, monitor progress, and keep action points and deadlines visible. - Prepare meetings: gather documents, organise agendas and papers, and record outcomes and follow-up. - Manage documents and digital filing so records are complete, consistent and easy to retrieve. - Support coordination between the Commission's teams and other contributors to its work. - Work to the guidance of the Committee and the President, without exercising decision, validation, representation or signature powers.
Requirements
- A master's degree or equivalent in law, public administration, administrative sciences, political science, public policy, economics and management, project management, or another relevant discipline. - At least five years of relevant professional experience after the degree, including at least three years in legal, institutional, administrative, documentary or coordination support. - Excellent ability to analyse, synthesise and draft in French. - Knowledge of institutions, public administration and standard-setting processes. - Skills in planning, activity monitoring, meeting preparation and document management. - Command of office and collaborative tools, email and digital filing. - Integrity, discretion, rigour, availability, responsiveness, teamwork and a strong public-service ethos.
Preferred qualifications
Professional English is an asset. A profile leaning more to legal, normative and documentary work, or more to administrative, organisational and project-monitoring work, will be welcomed, as the two posts are intended to complement each other.
